It all begins with an idea.

FMW Nonprofit Solutions (“FMW”) was founded by 3 women who have, combined, over 90 years’ experience working with nonprofit organizations, whose work has spanned the entire spectrum of community and client services.

Much of their work focused on planning and development activities – strategic planning, program planning, operations and administrative systems development and compliance, and fiscal management, oversight and compliance.

Francie Mathes

For over 30 years Francie has worked extensively on supporting non-profits, Tribal Nations and Local Governments in providing programs and services designed to relieve poverty to people with low-incomes. With broad experience working with government and nonprofit organizations at the state and national levels, she is proficient in program management, advancing agency culture, providing training and technical assistance for organizational improvement and compliance. 

Francie is a nationally certified trainer, providing results-oriented, and best practices training, community assessment, organizational standards and training on Board roles and fiduciary responsibilities for organizations. She works with organizations to explore strategies and develop systems for continuous improvement, accountability and innovation.  

She has developed policy for individuals and families experiencing poverty, worked with State Legislatures, and has a special interest in helping organizations improve outcomes, and ensure programs are delivering effective responsive services, and support a culture of equity, inclusion and diversity. 

Wanda N. Walker

Wanda is a founding partner of FMW Nonprofit Solutions. She brings over 30 years of experience in strategic planning, process improvement, growth strategies, organizational development, program design, implementation and evaluation, and people management. She has worked with clients in education, religious institutions, public health, youth development, community action agencies and other fields.

Wanda received her Master’s in Social Work Administration from the University of Cincinnati, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She graduated with a BA in Sociology from Ohio Wesleyan University. Wanda holds a Six Sigma Green Belt, Certification in Virtual Facilitation, Real Colors Certified Trainer & is a Better Teams Consultant. Wanda is currently working towards her Ph.D. in Human Services, specializing in organizational development and leadership.

Marcy Harris

Marcy Harris brings a strong passion for serving the nonprofit community to her roles with FMW Nonprofit Services. 

With over 30 years as an attorney practicing in the nonprofit law arena, Marcy has focused in working with and for nonprofit organizations and their Boards. A versatile advisor, she’s conducted training on Board roles and responsibilities, fiduciary obligations, and strategic planning, and operational standards for nonprofits. Marcy leads the Fiscal Sponsor/Agent and administrative assistance services we offer.  

Marcy has worked as a nationally certified trainer, conducting results-oriented and best practices training. Additionally, she provides personal, nonprofit and small business financial management and professional organization services through her company Sisters United Management & Consulting.  She is a member of the National Network of Fiscal Sponsors, the American Association of Daily money Managers and the Minnesota State Bar Association.  She is a Better Teams™ Facilitator/Consultant and a Kolbe Certified™ Consultant.
